Scott Ochoa


Scott Ochoa is a second-year Vocal Performance Masters student at Louisiana State University. He currently studies under the tutelage of Paul Groves and Robert Grayson. Before studying at LSU, he received a Bachelor in Vocal Performance from Stetson University studying under Chadley Ballantyne.

Scott is an engaging classical musician with over 9 years of solo performing experience. In Spring 2023, he made his Carnegie Hall debut in a vocal quartet performing selections from Brahms’ Op. 92 and has played a key role in the success of notable choral performances, such as Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Mass in G, Mozart’s Requiem, and Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci by Jocelyn Hagan. 

An avid opera enthusiast, Ochoa has performed in various lead roles including: Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and the Schoolmaster in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen. His opera ensemble experience includes Vero Beach Opera’s productions La Bohéme (January 2022), L’elisir d’amore (January 2023), Don Giovanni (January 2024) and LSU’s productions of Die Zauberflöte (2023) and Carousel (2024). He is currently preparing for his role as Nemorino in LSU’s Production of L’elisir d’amore in October 2024.
